Although most electrical panels or fuse boxes can accommodate a ductless split heat pump, sometimes challenges present themselves, and electrical upgrades are required. Please allow Nova Heat Pumps’ skilled electricians to help navigate you through this process.
Centrally ducted heating systems will most often require a 200 amp electrical service to be considered a primary heat source for insurance purposes.

Electrical disconnect boxes and heat pumps go hand in hand. Where you see one, you will inevitably see the other. They are the connection point between your electrical panel and your heat pump. Designed to allow technicians to quickly disconnect the power supply from the unit for service. Electrical disconnect boxes must be installed by a certified electrician.
Surge Protectors
Surge protectors are a very important part of any heat pump installation. They can absorb overloaded electrical current and protect the electrical components of your system during a lightning strike. If the green light on the side of your surge protector ever disappears or a red light appears, it’s time for a new one.
